Founded in 2004 by Éric Jacquot, Blue Spirit has established itself as a major player in French animation. Since 2017, it has been part of the STUDIO TF1 group. In 2023, Olivier Lelardoux assumed the role of CEO, continuing to develop a studio recognised for the artistic and technical quality of its productions.
Combining narrative rigour with visual excellence, Blue Spirit stands out for its ability to bring diverse universes to life, blending creative ambition with industrial know-how. The studio collaborates with numerous French and international partners and has produced over 40 animated series and feature films.
Within the group, the subsidiary Blue Spirit Productions produces and manufactures animated series and features – among its noteworthy works: The Mysterious Cities of Gold, My Life as a Zucchini, and more recently the series Les Chapardeurs and Alice & Lewis. Meanwhile, the subsidiary Blue Spirit Studios supports French and international producers as executive producer and service provider, operating from studios in Paris, Angoulême and Montréal. One of its recent flagship productions is the internationally acclaimed series Blue Eye Samurai for Netflix.
