The Newen Group has launched the Newen Foundation with the mission of supporting and empowering the next generation of talent in the audiovisual sector, in all their diversity.
At its first Board of Directors meeting, the Foundation committed to supporting the Conservatoire Européen d’Écriture Audiovisuelle (CEEA) by awarding scholarships to two screenwriting students.
Newen and the CEEA share a common vision: to foster French fiction and nurture creative talent. Aligned with this goal, the Newen Foundation — chaired by Bibiane Godfroid and composed of 11 members* — is actively involved in mentoring and supporting these students.
Founded in 1996 by a collective of industry professionals (broadcasters, institutions, etc.) and directed by Patrick Vanetti, the CEEA is the only school in France solely dedicated to the training of screenwriters. The association works to professionalize emerging fiction writers.
With a shared ambition to offer the best possible study conditions, the Newen Foundation has established a scholarship program. Based on objective, pre-defined criteria, the Foundation will grant €20,000 to selected students over the course of their two-year training program.
“This partnership aims to help reduce the financial barrier of studying in Paris and to promote greater diversity in French storytelling. It’s a significant commitment for our group, the leading producer of fiction in France.”
— Bibiane Godfroid, President of Newen
“Fiction professionals and CEEA partners are convinced that renewing the creative forces behind French fiction depends on embracing a multiplicity of viewpoints.”
— Patrick Vanetti, Director of the CEEA
Board Members: Laurence Bachman, Guillaume de Menthon, Eric Garandeau, Fanchon Giorda, Isabelle Giordano, Eric Jacquot, Christine Kelly, Patrice Lorton, Nicolas Plisson, Benoît Thevenet, Guillaume Thouret
