Launch of health media AlloDocteurs.Africa

17 Juin has launched AlloDocteurs.Africa, a new health-focused media outlet aimed at the general public, as part of its 17 Juin NewMedia offering. The website, its mobile app, and its social media platforms*—followed by nearly one million users—break down the latest health news and offer 27 localized editions covering French-speaking Africa.

“Building on the success of our TV show Bonjour Santé, broadcast on Canal+ Afrique, and our expertise through Allodocteurs.fr, we’re taking the bold step of launching a high-quality African health news site, which is a first of its kind,” explains Benoît Thevenet, Deputy CEO of 17 Juin.

AlloDocteurs.Africa shines a spotlight on healthcare professionals and institutions across the continent. It addresses major public health issues such as cancer, diabetes, and HIV, as well as everyday health topics, including fitness, nutrition, health startups, and medical innovation in Africa.

The site was developed by SQLI in France and Morocco and was designed primarily for mobile phones and tablets, though it’s also accessible on desktop.

A mobile app is being launched simultaneously on the Google Play Store for Android users across the continent. Orange Middle East and Africa, a key partner in the project, will support its rollout by making the app available at no cost to Orange subscribers in Africa.
